Atheist Empire - a broad-based general site with support for atheists and criticisms of religion.  

Celebrity Atheist List - Lance Armstrong, Woody Allen, Warren Buffet, they are all on the list.

Dangerous Talk - "Dangerous Talk is an atheist/progressive daily blog discussing the three most dangerous
topics of polite conversation: Religion, Politics, and Sex. Our goal is to fight back against the Religious Right
and push for a more free and rational society."  

Internet Infidels - a popular source of news, information and support for atheists

No Beliefs - a site for freethinkers.  

Positive Atheism - a well written atheist resource site including a big list of quotations.

The Rational Response Squad - A place for activist atheists to unite.

Meetup.com can help you to find an atheist group that meets near you.  

Atheist Nexus is a social networking site for nontheists.

Think Atheist - "Think Atheist is a social networking site focused on current events and building a global
Atheist community."

Research/Religious Resources:


The Pew Forum - home to the U.S. Religious Landscape survey and innumerable surveys and reports about
religious belief and the lack thereof, including the influential
religious landscape survey.

American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS 2008) - access the results of one of the most influential
surveys of American religious beliefs.

Gallup Polls - a source of interesting polls about religion and atheism, for example, the most and least
religious countries in the world and where the U.S. falls in this ranking.

Adherents.com - encyclopedic information about religions worldwide, including rankings of the world's largest
religions.

The Bible Gateway - read Bible text in a number of languages, and 22 English versions.  Search by citation
or term.  

The Koran - search and read the Koran in four English versions as well as several other languages.  

The Koran - alternate site.  

The 1830 Book of Mormon -  page by page images of the original Book of Mormon, by Joseph Smith Junior,
Author and Proprietor.

The Book of Mormon - alternate site which allows text-based searches.

The Bible and the Koran - a comparison of the two books that concludes that they both say the same basic
things.    

Atheists As "Other": Moral Boundaries and Cultural Membership in American Society - an insightful
article about the position of atheists in modern American society.  

Barna Group - an unabashedly pro-Christian survey organization that still comes up with interesting stuff like
the
high percentage of Christians who divorce or that gays and lesbians are more likely to be atheist.  

Religious Tolerance.org - an Ontario, Canada based group with a liberal approach to religion or the lack of
it.  The website includes interesting pages like the
original Barna survey that shows atheists divorce less
frequently than Christians.

The Skeptics Annotated Bible/Koran/Book of Mormon - insightful comments and questions about these
influential but rarely questioned texts.  

God is Imaginary - Fifty simple proofs that god is imaginary.  

Unreasonable Faith - a website by a former evangelical Christian who has become an atheist.  

Why Won't God Heal Amputees - dedicated to proving that god is imaginary.  

The Authoritarians - an online book by Bob Altemeyer about authoritarians, including religious
fundamentalists.

Profiles of the Godless - A rare look at who atheists are and what they call themselves.

Evolvefish.com - Based in Colorado Springs, this net merchant offers a wide array of atheist, freethinker,
fsm, and left oriented emblems, stickers and t-shirts.

Ring of Fire Enterprises - a pioneering seller of Darwin Fish and other atheist and freethought symbols.  


Kids:

Darwin's Treehouse - "Darwin's Treehouse is a website designed to bring together secular parents looking
to meet other local like-minded families."

Camp Quest  - "Camp Quest is the first residential summer camp in the history of the United States for the
children of Atheists, Freethinkers, Humanists, Brights. . .  [and] those who hold to a naturalistic, not
supernatural world view."

Alternative Churches:

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster - "Some claim that the church is purely a thought experiment,
satire, illustrating that Intelligent Design is not science, but rather a pseudoscience manufactured by Christians
to push Creationism into public schools. These people are mistaken. The Church of FSM is real, totally legit,
and backed by hard science. Anything that comes across as humor or satire is purely coincidental."

The Church of Reality - "The Church of Reality is a religion based on the practice of Realism, which means
believing in everything that is real. Our motto is, ‘If it's real, we believe in it.'"

The Invisible Pink Unicorn - "The Invisible Pink Unicorn (blessed be her holy hooves) is a fictional female
deity in the form of a unicorn. . . . Like most Goddesses, she's invisible and highly unlikely to exist. . . .  She
burns with anger against theists, and allegedly grinds them beneath her holy hooves."

The Church of the SubGenius - Home of the pipe smoking Bob whose image floats through pop culture, and
originated in a
pamphlet.

North Texas Church of Freethought - "a Fellowship of Unbelievers.  We do what all the other churches do,
but with one less god."


Just for fun:

Jesus Dress Up - Like Colorforms for the Internet, dress up JC as the easter bunny or Dorothy from the
Wizard of Oz.
